PARIVAAR Sahyadri has a network of active member organizations in the state of Maharashtra and Goa. 

Rights & Empowerment: PARIVAAR Sahyadri promotes the rights, dignity, self-advocacy, informed decision-making, independent living and community inclusion of Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (PwIDDs). It works to address barriers to early intervention, inclusive education, rehabilitation and community support, particularly in underserved areas.

Networking & Collaboration: PARIVAAR Sahyadri promotes partnership and collective action by connecting organisations, professionals, families and other stakeholders to advance disability rights and inclusion.

Child Protection: PARIVAAR Sahyadri is committed to protecting children from abuse, exploitation, violence and neglect. Its leaders, volunteers and member organisations follow the Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct, with regular monitoring and appropriate action on violations.

Our Key Objectives are:

1. State-level representation: Function as the State Chapter of PARIVAAR-NCPO, supporting its policies and programmes.

2. Rights & policy implementation: Promote effective implementation of laws, policies and programmes concerning PwIDDs.

3. Parent & self-advocacy networks: Facilitate Parent Associations and Self-Advocacy Forums at district and local levels.

4. Economic empowerment: Promote Self-Help Groups, vocational training, employment and economic independence.

5. Legal protection: Safeguard the legal, civil and human rights of PwIDDs and protect them from abuse, exploitation and discrimination.

6. Networking & collaboration: Strengthen cooperation among parent organisations, NGOs, professionals, institutions and supporters.

7. Awareness: Conduct state, district and local awareness programmes using community engagement and media.

8. Self-advocacy: Enable PwIDDs to participate meaningfully in forums, consultations, seminars and decision-making processes.

9. Government convergence: Work with Government to make schemes, projects and programmes disability-inclusive and accessible.

10. Inclusive education: Promote inclusive education, integrated learning and co-curricular opportunities.

11. Policy advocacy: Advocate implementation of the Constitution, UNCRPD and relevant national and state legislation, rules and policies.

12. Member capacity-building: Encourage member organisations to develop early intervention, day-care, vocational training, employment, respite and residential services.

13. Knowledge & documentation: Develop, document and disseminate resources, good practices, research and practical solutions for PwIDDs and their families.
