A structured approach is supported by:
Understand their strengths, abilities, interests and support needs.
Develop self-confidence and self-awareness. Define choices, preferences, feelings and opinions.
Understand basic rights, responsibilities and entitlements.
Train in decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Develop personal safety, safeguarding and boundary-awareness skills.
Build independent living and everyday life skills.
Understand money, digital tools and other practical skills etc.
Participate in family, educational, vocational and community events.
The programme aims to move from “doing for” to “doing with” and ultimately “supporting people to do for themselves”, wherever possible.
